"Landscapes 2015" at William Baczek Fine Arts

My painting "Valley Farmhouse, Late February" (egg tempera on panel, 16 x 20") will be featured on the exhibition announcement for the upcoming 2015 Annual Landscape Exhibition at William Baczek Fine Arts in Northampton, MA. The show opens August 25 with an opening reception on Saturday, August 29 from 5 - 7 pm. Along with about 8 new pieces by me, there will be new work by Bruce Ackerson, Derek Buckner, Marc Civitarese,  Mallory Lake, George Nemethy, Rick Pas, Scott Prior and Robert Sweeney.

The 79th National Midyear Exhibition at the Butler Institute

I'm happy to announce that my painting, "House off the Bypass" (see the previous post) is being exhibited at the 79th National Midyear Exhibition at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown Ohio.  I'm also proud to say that my painting won an Honorable Mention.  The show runs from July 12 through August 30, 2015.  More information can be found at The Butler's website.

The Butler Institute is a wonderful collection of American Art, housed in a masterpiece of Beaux-Arts Architecture.  The building was erected in in 1919 and designed by McKim, Mead and White, a firm that created the structures for the Boston Public Library, Madison Square Garden, Washington Memorial Arch, the campuses of Columbia and Harvard, and the Century, Harvard, Metropolitan, and University clubs in New York.

Allegheny College Faculty and Alumni Exhibition

I've been invited to exhibit as featured artist at my alma mater, Allegheny College in Meadville PA.  My work will be shown in the annual faculty and alumni exhibition from Tuesday, Nov. 4 through Tuesday, Nov. 25. The artists will talk about their work at 7 p.m. on Nov. 4, with a reception following in the galleries from 8 to 9 p.m. Both the exhibit and the reception are free and open to the public. "2014 Landscape Exhibition" at William Baczek Fine Arts

The Athenaeum of Philadelphia's 200th Anniversary Art Exhibition

I have a watercolor painting, "USS Olympia" included in the group show at the Athenaeum of Philadelphia.  The show is entitled "2014 Celebration of the Athenaeum of Philadelphia's 200th Anniversary Art Exhibition" and runs from June 29  to August 8, 2014.  The Athenaeum is a spectacular historic space and the show features paintings by various artists of buildings and monuments in Philadelphia that are on the National Historical Register.  More on the show can be seen at http://www.philaathenaeum.org/current.html.

The subject of my painting, the USS Olympia, is currently docked at Penn's Landing in Philadelphia and is open for tours.  It is the world's oldest floating steel warship and the sole surviving  naval ship of the Spanish-American War.
